Project Management and Group Leadership

Database Design and Implementation

I have had an interest in computers since I was young. I enjoyed the freedom you could have in virtual worlds and aspired to create my own. I first started to take an interest in programming during High School, where I attended a computer programming club and learned basic Java. Unfortunately there were limited resources at the school in both physical and staff knowledge regarding programming. I carried on being a basic hobbyist programmer until starting at Computer Power Plus in 2016, and found the coursework easy, spending extra time helping other students and broadening my horizons beyond what was included in the coursework alone. This is also where I found an affinity for project management and group leadership. Through this experience I felt that my attention to detail and calm but firm demeanour helped in accomplishing my groups goals ahead of schedule and with top marks.

I am passionate about experiences and how people interact within a system. I want to be able to streamline systems and make interaction as effortless as possible, increasing efficiency and the mood of the users, unhappy users who have to jump through a lot of hoops to get simple tasks done are not as productive as they could be.

My top qualities are that I am calm no matter what the situation, my attention to detail and critical thinking abilities, as well as my ability to explain things that I understand to any knowledge level without sounding patronising. I am also good at self-directed learning as my coursework was all self-directed. This means that if you tell me that I need to learn something and give me the resources to learn that skill, I will be able to quickly and efficiently put those learned skills into action with minimal guidance and intervention.
