I have finished my third full year of study at the University of Canterbury and will do another half year until June 2022 to complete courses that I have an interest in before graduating. I have previously completed a Diploma and an Advanced Diploma in Software Development at Computer Power Plus (now Whitecliffe School of Information Technology).
“Daniel was the Team Leader in the Group Development Project course where he successfully led a group of eight students. The aim of the project was to produce an IT system proposal for a business problem, which Daniel produced ahead of the scheduled deadline. Daniel demonstrated a thorough attention to detail, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills”.

My Diplomas and University study have prepared me for keeping up with deadlines and ensuring that work is completed to a high standard within a time limited window.
I have had to deal with COVID restrictons on learning environments throughout my University degree, resorting to having to self-learn some course content. My previous Diplomas helped in this regard as being self-paced, I learned the skills required to self-learn.
Within my diploma course Group Development Project (GDP) Team Leader and the role required me to collate and administer tasks to others in the group. Obtaining a high grade outcome. Within university, I have taken the lead in group projects when needed in order to obtain a good outcome for myself and the other members of the group.
As the a team leader I communicated effectively with the group including telephone, email, face-to-face and Google docs.
Able to identify problems and implement corrective actions effectively and efficiently.
I have always been someone to be able to see details in things that others miss. This ability to pick up on small things that others overlook allowed me to complete debugging of projects quickly as to not affect my workflow.

My main interest is computing, and how virtual experiences through computing can change our lives and make experiences that might be unobtainable to people, available through a virtual world. Other than computing, I have interests in History, politics and architecture. I have a wide knowledge base and can find interest in a variety of other topics.
I am interested gamification and the application of principles of making tasks on a computer more fun or interactive as to avoid negative experiences with having to interact with a system that an end user might find too sanitized or business.
